The highly-awaited docu-series ‘The Roshans’ release date revealed by Netflix for January 2025
1. The Six Triple Eight:
The Six Triple Eight is an immersive and engrossing war-drama film on Netflix that tells OTT lovers and viewers an engaging story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. Interestingly, the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion is an all-black battalion of 855 women who joined World War II to correct a three-year backlog of undelivered and unsent mail. The Six Triple Eight is written and directed by Tyler Perry for Netflix.
2. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore:
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is the latest film in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. The gripping and well-etched plot follows Professor Albus Dumbledore, who creates and forms a group of skilled and gifted wizards, witches, and even a muggle to stop Gellert Grindelwald from coming into power at Hogwarts. The film will be accessible to cinema lovers on JioCinema by Friday, December 20.
3. Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous:
Directed by visionary filmmaker Mozez Singh from Oscar-winning production banner Sikhya Entertainment for Netflix, this documentary is one of the highly-anticipated documentary films awaited by OTT lovers and ardent Honey Singh fans across the globe. The documentary gives audiences and viewers an in-depth insight into the raw and unfiltered glance within the award-winning rapper and his early career struggles, unprecedented rise to fame as a rapper and musician in the Hindi film industry, painful health battles, massive fall, and now the bang on comeback as a musician and rapper.
4. Boy Kills World:
Boy Kills World is a gripping and riveting action-packed thriller drama movie that centers around Boy, a deaf man whose contented life turns upside down after experiencing the untimely death of his loving family. Soon, he partakes in relentless training with the sole aim of slaying Hilda Van Der Koy. She is the cunning woman who brutally killed all his family members in cold blood. Will he be able to take her down? The film will be streaming on Lionsgate Play (December 20).
5. Univerxo Dabiz:
Univerxo Dabiz is a Spanish-language intriguing culinary docu-series that takes viewers inside the fascinating universe of globally renowned Michelin star chef Dabiz Munoz, who is the only chef who has won the highly coveted Best Chef award three times in a row (2021, 22, and 23). This five-episodic docu-series takes audiences into the real life of the internationally famed chef who does daily self-examination to make decisions related to his personal life and the future of his restaurants. It also delves into the following aspects: Will this daily professional perfection ever be equivalent to personal life happiness? Will there come a definitive moment wherein Dabiz would hang up the apron and finally become David? The series will be available on Netflix (December 20).
6. Vanvaas:
Vanvaas is an upcoming Hindi drama film directed by the ace Bollywood filmmaker Anil Sharma. The plot focuses on an old and aged man who is suffering from the painful disease of dementia and his changing dynamics with his family members. The film will be released in theatres on (December 20) and stars Nana Patekar, Kushboo Sundar, Utkarsh Sharma, and Simratt Kaur in prominent roles.
7. Umjolo: Day Ones:
Umjolo: Day Ones is an African romantic comedy-drama film. The film’s quirky and exceptionally well-made plot is the story of two rock-solid best friends forever: Zanele and Andile. Zanele and Andile are the unbreakable duo who have been best friends of each other for so many years. They have seen all the highs and lows together. Zanele and Andile have been a shoulder to lean on during testing situations for each other. Moreover, they were also each other’s forever go-to and preferred plus ones at events. The camaraderie of the bosom best friends changes when Andile gets hitched to the love of his life: Jessica. This one event pivots Zanele’s life into a roller-coaster mess of chaos and turmoil. Will Zanele and Andile’s closeness create problems in Andile’s married life with Jessica? Will Zanele forever be designated as a permanent member of the friend zone? The film stars Sibusisiwe Jili as Zanele, Kay Sibiya as Andile, and Trix Javier as Jessica in key roles. The film will be streaming on Netflix by Friday (December 20).
8. Feludar Goyendagiri: Bhuswargo Bhoyonkawr:
Feludar Goyendagiri: Bhuswargo Bhoyonkawr is a gripping Bengali language drama series helmed by Srijit Mukherji. The plot follows Feluda, Jatayu, and Topshe, who arrive in the scenic and serene snow-clad landscapes of Gulmarg, Khilanmarg, and Pahalgam in Kashmir for other reasons. However, the trio’s relaxing trip is cut short by a dangerous adventure when retired judge Siddheshwar Mallick’s contentious past results in his brutal murder. Will the trio be able to unravel the dark conspiracy by going to the bottom of the murder mystery? The second season will be streaming on HoiChoi (December 20).
9. Mufasa: The Lion King:
Mufasa: The Lion King is a much-awaited animated adventure fantasy drama film that serves as a prequel and sequel to The Lion King (2019). It takes cinema lovers and audiences deep into the origin story of the family-less and orphaned cub Mufasa. Lost and alone, the orphaned cub Mufasa accidentally crosses paths with the sympathetic and kind lion cub Taka, who is the heir to the royal bloodline. Will this unplanned and chance meeting between Mufasa and Taka be a life-changing moment for Mufasa’s destiny? Will Mufasa and Taka strike a deep bond of friendship and brotherhood amid the challenging odds? The Hindi version features the voice cast of global Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as Mufasa, Aryan Khan as Simba, Abram Khan as Mufasa the young cub, Sanjay Mishra as Pumbaa, Shreyas Talpade as Timon, Makarand Deshpande as Rafiki, and Meiyang Chang as Taka. The film drops in theatres on Friday, (December 20).
10. Ferry 2:
Ferry 2 is an English crime-themed action-thriller-drama series. The plot follows the life of drug lord Ferry Bowman. The once-upon-a-time menacing drug lord, Ferry Bowman, suffers massive losses in his formerly profitable and lavishly built drug empire. As a result, his drug empire gets done and dusted into smithereens. After losing it all, Ferry goes away from the dangerous playground of drugs and crime underworld of Brabant and ultimately settles down into a quiet and disconnected guarded life away from the Brabant.
From the outside, it looks like he is doing well, but this is not the case since his inner voice haunts him daily. But, one day, an unexpected call turns his calm life into chaos when he gets compelled to confront his disgraceful past. Will Ferry fall prey to the temptation and resume his old ways? The second season will be available for streaming on Netflix (December 20).
