Cheer Up True Crime fans, your new favourite local detective Pip Fitz – Amobi is back with her wall of mysteries and hopefully an even more gripping crime case for us to map around with her. The ever curious Pip in Season 1 of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder successfully navigated and solved the neighbourhood’s favourite Andie Bell’s case, along with Ravi her confidant and something more.
The season 2 of the popular Netflix BBC crime series was confirmed by Deadline, who reported that the shooting for this will proceed next year with the production crew and cast members retaining. The story is based on Holly Jackson’s best selling novel of the same title and has great potential for sequels too, with Jackson also being the part as a writer.
Holly Jackson reunited with Poppy Cohan who also wrote the pilot season, with Moonage Pictures commissioning the series sequel for 2025. Emma Myers who has had a busy run in 2024 with several appearances apart from the convincing performance as the ever curious Pip, an amateur detective who is adamant in solving the murder of Andie Bell, a familiar and well loved girl of Little Kilton.
A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder season two is based on Jackson’s second instalment novel titled, ‘Good Girl, Bad Blood’, Pip is conscious of staying away from mysteries and jeopardising her safety, following the first season’s end, ends up chasing a key witness Jamie Reynols on the Max Hastings hearing and time as the clock is ticking.
As per Deadline the co- writers, Holly Jackson and Poppy Cohan shared their excitement in continuing the series saying, “I am beyond thrilled that we can continue Pip’s story and, this time, I’m writing on the show. We owe everything to the dedicated fans, and I can’t wait to reunite with my AGGGTM family.”, shared Jackson, the author of the YA novels that is now grown into 4 parts. The writers are also executive producers of the show.
Matthew Reed, Simon Crawford Collins, Frith Tiplady are the executive producers for the upcoming season along with BBC representatives Lucy Richer, Daniel Scott-Haughton and Katherine Bond.
