Actress Taapsee Pannu and writer-producer Kanika Dhillon are collaborating for the new project Gandhari, which is an action-thriller web series that will be released on Netflix. Both of them had previously worked in Haseen Dillruba and Phir Aayi Haseen and the new movie will be based on the strong affection between a mother and her offspring. Reunion of a Powerful Duo
Taapsee Pannu and Kanika Dhillon have collaborated in the past with Haseen Dillruba and its prequel Phir Aayi Haseen. Both of the films received much attention from their audiences due to the combination of elements of romance and mystery. Now, they have decided to shift the gears of their partnership with Gandhari which is an action-thriller about the power of a mother’s love and her thirst for revenge. The film has come as a welcome addition to the action films for Pannu who was last seen acting nine years ago. She said she is looking forward to it and the film offers her new experiences in addition to building on her prior projects.
Plot of Love and Revenge
Gandhari is said to be an action-thriller movie that would make one’s heart pound due to the discovery of the strong bond between a mother and her child. The storyline of the film is quite action-packed and Pannu essays the role of a mother who goes on the rampage. Dhillon says that the film captures the intensity of motherly love, especially in the way a mother would fight for her child. Dhillon, who will be producing the film under her home production Katha Pictures said that the film is a fiery, raw action thriller that has equal doses of emotions and powerful action sequences. The theme of revenge and redemption is brought to the foreground and gives the viewers an exciting story of personal vendetta and sheer perseverance.
A Visionary Director
Gandhari will be directed by Devashish Makhija who earlier made critically appreciated films Ajji, Bhonsle, and Joram. His experience in producing sensitive and emotional plays guarantees that Gandhari will not only be an action movie. Audiences and critics have appreciated Makhija’s earlier plays for their themes and strong performances and Gandhari too is expected to be up to the mark. The storyline which has been scripted by Dhillon will be complemented by the vision of Makhija, thus providing the audience with a powerful combination of action and feeling on screen.
