Paithani sarees are made out of silk, and gold in some weavings. The significant attribute of these sarees is the flat square shaped border ended with the peacock designs. In some Paithani sarees there are other varieties of designs woven based on the requirements. It is named after the town in Maharashtra, Paithan and it is a popular handmade craft of India.

‘Paithani’ is a women centric web series starring Eisha Singh, and Mrunal Kulkarni as the leads. The team has launched the one minute trailer of this series. The story is woven around the exquisite bonding between a mother and a daughter; Kaveri’s mother is an artisan who weaves the world popular handmade Paithani sarees. Due to the age factors her eyesight has deteriorated but she wishes to continue her art. On the other hand, her daughter Kaveri takes oath to continue the legacy of her mother’s which she considers as her “IDENTITY”. It also discloses her struggle to buy a Paithani saree which costs in lakhs for her mother who hasn’t worn it in her life.
This story is wrapped up with intense emotional battles undergone by both Kaveri and Godavari.
