The OG Television Police Procedural series, ‘CID’ is returning to television after 6 years and fans are on cloud nine post announcement. Titled as CID Returns, the original police officers with the cast Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, Aditya Srivatsava are reprising their roles as brave, bold and daring police officers.
The Original CID series began airing from 21 January 1998 and had one of the longest Television runs with more than 1500 episodes till 27 October, 2018. The show that follows through several cases and crimes that are resolved by the talented group of police officers based on Mumbai – ACP Pradyuman, Inspector Fredricks, Sr. Inspector Virendra, Sr. Inspector Daya, Dr. R. P. Salunkhe, Sr. Inspector Abhijeet and broadcasted on Sony Entertainment Television.
The teaser opens to a wounded Aditya Srivastava panning to ACP Pradyuman stepping out of a police van while the tension is triggered by a ticking time bomb. Fans are really excited for the announcement with many saying that their childhood is returned and even saying CID – Childhood Immortal Department.
After the first announcement of CID Returns dropped a month ago, fans went gaga over the internet and recalled their nostalgic childhood cast while also sharing their grief over the death of Late actor Dinesh Phadnis, who played Inspector Fredricks. The CID Returns series will be aired from 21 December 2024 on weekends at 10 PM.
