The Hindi edition of ‘Big Brother’ has corresponded with a larger audience along the years and this clearly reflects on the jaw dropping salary of Bigg Boss 18 contestants and host Salman Khan.
One of Bollywood’s most celebrated stars, Salman Khan has also been a successful host of the reality show Bigg Boss. Apart from being one of the top grossing celebrities, Salman Khan has returned to TV with the airing of Bigg Boss 18 from October 6.
Bigg Boss 18 has already been a fan favourite with unlimited entertainment from the audience. There is a recent buzz about Salman Khan charging around 60 crores per month which rounds up to about 250 crores at the end of the 15 week according to Viral Bhayani.
This hefty fee is not confirmed by any official sources but is widely believed to be an approximate amount received by the star. Meanwhile, Bigg Boss 18 contestants’ remuneration for the season is also revealed with Vivian Dsena getting the highest sum of 5 lakhs per week. He’s the star of several daily telecasts like Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani and many more.
Actress Shilpa Shirodkar with her several years of experience stands second with a take away of 2.5 lakhs per week. She was a busy actress in the 90s with films like Khuda Gawah, Raghuveer, Hum under her belt.
Third highest salary is charged by Karan Veer Mehra who is the title winner of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 with 2 lakhs a week. The TV star has years of experience as an actor in serials like Pavithra Rishta, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
The contestants of Bigg Boss 18 are earning considerably less, especially the highest pay for this season is half of what Bigg Boss 17’s Ankhita Lokhande. The drop in contestants’ salary and a visible hike in Salman Khan’s is to be noted.
Salman Khan’s 10% hike equals to many of the film’s budget even. His take home salary of 250 crores is the production budget of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan. This is a massive deal as fans for the TV show will only get to see the actor in the weekends.
