Darang started her pageantry journey in 2010. In 2014, she became one of the finalists of North East Diva. In the next year, she emerged as the second runner-up in Miss Himalaya. Darang participated in Miss Earth India 2016 and ended up getting a prestigious title.
In 2016, upon being asked about her inspiration, Darang replied “Sushmita Sen”, adding Sen represented India and brought back the Miss Universe title home. “She is a single mom of 2 and a great actress in the industry,” the model further said.

On being asked about her decision to become a contestant in Bigg Boss 18 hosted by Salman Khan, Darang said it’s a massive reality event and that it’s going to be a great process to make people understand about her and her home state.
The model and actress described herself as “fun and a little short-tempered”. “I think I am outgoing, I’m fun. a little short-tempered at times, but I think I am fun,” she added. One of the biggest things she is excited about is meeting Salman.
