Thugesh Vs The World is a Hindi lifestyle web series streaming on JioHotstar from March 7, 2025, with new episodes airing weekly. The series follows YouTuber and Content Creator Thugesh (Mahesh Keshwala) as he steps out of his comfort zone, challenging some of India’s best in their respective fields. In return, his guests face unexpected and entertaining tasks, making for a fun, engaging experience for both the experts and the viewers.

Storyline

The first episode (Thugesh V/S Neeraj Goyat) kicks off with a bang as Thugesh takes on professional boxer and WBC Asia Champion Neeraj Goyat in an intense yet entertaining faceoff. Set in Yamunanagar’s Goyat Gruh Vatika, the episode ensures to give you a glimpse of sports, humor, and personal insights beautifully. The vibe of the traditional haveli setting adds a unique charm, creating a mix of nostalgia and thrill.

The episode captures fun banter between the Thugesh and Neeraj as they enjoy local desi khana and desi lassi, debating the taste differences between Mumbai and Haryana’s food preparation versions in a relaxed manner. Neeraj who is a humble and grounded personality, shares his journey into boxing like how he started as a physically weak teenager, realizing the need to get stronger, and eventually making his mark in the sport. His dedication is inspiring, emphasizing that boxing is not just about strength but also about resilience and survival instincts.

Positive Aspects

The episode is filled with hilarious and relatable moments. When Thugesh misjudges the cold of Haryana while traveling from Mumbai and exclaims, “Maine thandi misjudge kar li, give me chai”, you can’t help but laugh. It felt like a real conversation that we have with our friend when we visit their home from a different location. The haveli tour gives a unique aesthetic touch, with glimpses of Neeraj’s achievements, medals, and a framed picture of his idol, Mike Tyson.

The training sequences are a mix of struggle and humor. Thughesh’s reactions, from “Bina gloves pehenke bhi aap maar rahe toh Dard ho raha hai bhai” to “Mereko skipping nahi aata hai” adds to the fun. The 5 AM wake-up alarm and intense exercises highlight the reality of a boxer or athlete’s routine, making us appreciate the effort behind the sport.

The unexpected twist in the end with the pottery challenge (Matkesh with Thugesh) adds an extra layer of fun, especially when Neeraj playfully ruins Thughesh’s pottery. I personally enjoyed this episode a lot. Watching Thughesh struggle yet survive the boxing challenge while bringing his usual comic timing was a delight. It’s inspiring to see how he adapts and grows through these experiences in the further episodes.

Negative Aspects

While the show is engaging, some moments could have been better-paced. A few training sequences felt a little rushed, means the duration of the episode could have been more where the viewers could see a bit more emphasis on Thughesh’s personal reflections on the experience.

Performances

Thugesh brings his positive energy and humor, making every challenge interesting to watch. Neeraj Goyat, despite being a professional athlete, is incredibly natural on screen. His humility and sportsmanship shine throughout the episode, making him instantly likable. The fun chemistry between the two similar to long-lost friends meeting after so many years keeps the episode entertaining.

Verdict

Thugesh Vs The World is an exciting blend of action, humor, and self-improvement. The first episode tries to combine sports, cultural elements, and personal growth. Thugesh’s willingness to push his limits, combined with the engaging guest interactions, makes this show a must-watch. I give Thugesh Vs The World 4 out of 5 stars.
