Production Update And Release Schedule
Just a few days ago, Netflix shared that Wednesday Season 2 is now in the works. Although the creators have not yet announced the precise date of the series, the platform has suggested that it will be released in 2025. This timeline makes room for production and post-production work to be done to keep the high quality of the visuals and the storyline of the show.
It is not uncommon for a show of this size, especially since many elements such as set designs, special effects, and the coordination needed to translate Wednesday Addams’ universe to screen. More Changes In Cast And New People Added
Another thing that fans are looking forward to this coming season is the inclusion of several big name actors in the show. Other cast members who have been confirmed to be joining the show are Christopher Lloyd, Steve Buscemi, Thandi Newton, Joanna Lumley, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo and Billie Piper. These talented performers are sure to add new dimension and mystery to already the outstanding cast.
Jenna Ortega will return as the lead character and will further portray the character of Wednesday Addams in a sarcastic, morose manner. But, there is no trace of Percy Hynes White, who has portrayed Xavier Thorpe in the first season of the series. Netflix has removed the actor from the show due to accusations of sexual harassment that were levelled against him and that he denied.
Potential Plot Developments
As for the plot details, they are being kept under wraps, but here are several strands from the first season that the new installment is sure to address. The season one finale was a shocker as Wednesday receives a text message from an unknown stalker. This new unknown enemy is believed to have a role to play in the storyline of the next season.
Also, the show may expand upon the rocky mother-daughter bond that Wednesday has with Morticia Addams. In the first season, their complicated relationship was briefly hinted at, so there is certainly more to discuss in terms of a mother and daughter.
There is also the development of Wednesday’s supernatural abilities that the fans can look forward to. Due to her ability to control and develop her powers further, there are bound to be new conflicts and enigmas that are present both in the Nevermore Academy and in Jericho.
