One of the biggest celebrations of movies in the Middle East is happening in Saudi Arabia with the announcement of The Red Sea International Film Festival. The festival in its fourth edition is planned from December 5 to 14 at Jeddah with special screenings of world cinemas, unknown underrated groundbreaking movies from several languages.

The film hopes to highlight the stars of recent times whose works stand out with an impressive array of honorees including Viola Davis, Mona Zaki, Emily Blunt, Amir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and many more. The film festival agenda also includes in-conversation and sit downs on the dock this December with around 35 Celebrities in attendance. The festival will also screen several movies starting from an Egyptian movie, ‘The Tale of Daye’s Family’ by an Egyptian filmmaker Karim Shenawy is an impressive work of artistry that is a fruit of Egypt- Saudi collaboration. This movie is about a 11 year old albino boy and marks the comeback of Shenawy from a 6 years hiatus and is having its world premiere at the Red Sea International Film Festival.
Regarding the Red Sea International Film Festival, Shivani Pandya Malhotra, the managing director of the film festival said, “We have lots of filmmakers coming down – Western talent, but also this huge amount of talent to discover from our part of the world. So if somebody is looking at new cultures, looking at new opportunities, looking at where the world is headed, it’s a great space to come and meet people and see and discover some content that is unique. At Red Sea, people can discover filmmakers and talent they may not have [been aware of], while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie screening at the Red Sea International Film Festival ends with a showcasing of ‘Better Man’ by Michael Gracey. The biopic of Robbie Williams, a British pop star is a musical but the twist is something no one imagined before as Williams’ role is played by a computer- generated monkey. This interesting and highly regarded film will wrap up the film festival.
The celebrity sit ups have been announced from December 5 at 13:00, with the Indian talent Amir Khan, known for his works in ‘Lagaan’, ‘Taare Zameen Par’, ‘3 Idiots’ will be present for a 60 minute discussion. “Known for his exceptional storytelling and dedication to meaningful cinema, Aamir has played a pivotal role in shaping the global perception of Indian films.” read the announcement from the official X post.

Amir Khan will be followed by the brilliant English actress Emily Blunt, who has had an incredible release with Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Fall Guy’ recently. She will be present on December 5 at 14:45. Several other actors and actresses like Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Zaki, Spike Lee are also scheduled along with movies selected from Egypt, India, Malaysia, France, Iran, Turkey, and other impressive languages.
