Oscars 2025 can be streamed digitally for the first time in history

Oscars 2025 is all set to make history. For the first time, one of the biggest nights in the entertainment industry can be streamed digitally. Tune in to Hulu on March 2, 2025, to catch on to all the fun as the biggest celebrities land at the Dolby Theatre.

The traditional cable broadcast is going to continue alongside the OTT platform. Oscars 2025 is scheduled to commence at 6:30 pm ET (5 am in India) through the Red Carpet and lead directly into the main night at 7 pm ET.

Numerous big celebrations are taking on streaming partners lately. Take the Grammys, for instance. The prestigious occasion – airing on CBS – has been streaming on Paramount+ since 2023. There is the Tonys as another example.

Oscars 2025 embraces big changes

The annual Oscars used to start at 8 pm ET. But the earlier starting time for this edition is going to ensure that some fans do not miss major moments from the night. Plus, the OTT streaming option can mean more audiences from across the globe.

For the loyal audience, the addition of Hulu to the scene means that they don’t need to scramble for antennas or local channels. Just their Hulu subscriptions are enough. Broadcasts are set to reach more than 200 territories globally.

The decision to introduce online streaming possibly stems from the fact that audiences’ consumption habits are changing. By airing simultaneously on Hulu, Oscars 2025 can reach the younger demographics better as they tend to prefer OTT platforms.

Can O’Brien take Oscars’ ratings higher? It seems to be the case. He is the perfect person to help lead the spectacular celebration of films and filmmakers of the year. His brilliant humour, appreciation for cinema and experience are going to help.

O’Brien seems to hold almost all the qualities of a great Oscars host. He is incredibly funny and charismatic. He currently hosts the podcast ‘Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend’. Throughout his career, he has been nominated for 31 Emmys, clinching at least 5.
