‘Nosferatu’ directly acclaims the legacy of Count Orlok from the ‘Dracula’ has been in production for quite a while with several changes in cast including that of Lily Rose Depp’s role, Ellen Hutter, originally written for Anya Taylor – Joy, one of Eggers’ preferred and past cast. The movie with subsequent progress in production also includes several disputes, the recent one being the movie’s run time which is 2 hours 12 minutes.
Eggers’ confidence has till date been fruitful with the darker movies that are all coincidentally or consciously periodic. Many pointed out that the run time would be affecting the horror flick while his ‘The Northman’ was also crossing the 2 hours run extending to 17 minutes and saw critical success, redeeming the fact of fear surrounding the duration.
Nosferatu Plot
The oneliner of the movie is pretty much a piece off of Dracula, focussing on the vampire’s obsession with a young lady who is pulled into the same traction, leading to several evil and dark incidents in the country. Here in Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu, the haunted young lady is Ellen Hutter, the wife of a devoted husband and real estate agent Thomas Hutter who experience vague and uneventful incidents after his wife’s vivid and entrancing dreams.
