In a shocking turn of events, the lead vocalist of the renowned Filipino rock band Aegis, Mercy Sunot, has passed away. The ‘Sinta’ hitmaker from the rock band Aegis had been battling through a painful breast and lung cancer condition for a long time now. However, she could not survive the ongoing treatment for her cancer. As a result, Mercy Sunot passed away in the morning on November 18, 2024.

The band took to their official Facebook page and released a statement confirming Mercy’s demise. They revealed how they are feeling teary-eyed with this gigantic loss in the form of Mercy’s unexpected departure and painful demise from their band – Aegis – due to cancer. Explaining their emotions, the band’s post caption read, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Mercy, one of the beloved vocalists of AEGIS Band, and the voice behind the hit song Luha. She bravely fought her battle with cancer but has now found peace and rest.”
