Sony Pictures has confirmed with their official announcement of ‘Jumanji 3’ which is marked for a release on December 11, 2026. The third edition of the adventurous ‘Jumanji’ will be helmed by Jake Kasdan who gave us the first two, ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ and ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’.
Jumanji Franchise
Jumanji was first seen on screen starring the gem of an actor Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst in 1995, directed by Joe Johnston. The movie was a big hit back in the day with 262.8 Million USD paving way for a successful franchise decades later with a different plot.
The 1995 film focused on children finding a mysterious game opening a jungle and its characters while the 2017s sets off in a different direction, where young children are trapped inside a game in their adult form and navigate their way through the hurdles inside the game.
The latest version stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillian in the lead roles. The same cast is currently in talks for repricing their roles while the directors and technical crew are jotted down. The successful cast and crew reignited the franchise with a whopping 962.5 Million USD grossed for the first Jumanji film in 2017 while the one in 2019 grossed around 800 Million USD.
Confirmed crew and release date
The producers of the two Jumanji movies, Matt Tolmach, Johnson, Danny Garcia, Hiram Garcia and Jake Kasdan are all set to bankroll the third edition which is set for release on December 11, 2026.
