The 2024 Country Music Association Awards’ top honour ‘Entertainer of the Year’ is bagged by Morgan Morgan, the ‘Last Night’ singer couldn’t make it for the awards night. The coveted prize created waves of laughter with presenter Jeff Bridges butchering the name and receiving the award on his behalf.
CMA’s highest honour is won by the 31 year old artist who was absent for the ceremony, while Jeff Bridges, the presenter of the most awaited category announced the artist’s name as Morgan Waylen, instead of, well, Wallen. He further went on to say that the awardee is absent and that he is taking home the award on his behalf.
Chris Wallon’s Domination
Morgan Wallen’s collaboration with Post Malone has garnered humongous traction, even surpassing Taylor Swift this June by staying at No. 1 in Billboard Hot 100 ranking. His hit collaboration, ‘I Had Some Help’ was nominated for four categories and Wallen was up for seven award nominations for the night, making him the most, but won just one. Wallon has been nominated for three years straight for the top category, finally bagging the award this year at the Bridgestone Arena, Nashville. Wallen also was nominated for the best country song category in the Grammys 2024.
The CMA with outstanding music talents adorned in stunning ensemble included the most win by Chris Stapeleton who took home the ‘Song of The Year’ and the ‘Single of The Year’ while the singer hardly left the stage, feasting the attendees with three on stage performance, including a duet with his collaborator Post Malone.
Morgan Wallen, although wrapped his ‘One Night at a Time’ tour on the day of his recent release ‘Love Somebody’ on October 18, missed the night. He was in line for the ‘entertainer of the Year’ award along with Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Chris Appleton and Lainey Wilson.
