Best known as the iconic Television presenter behind several hit and successful television reality shows – like – Big Brother, The Million Pound Drop, The Jump, The Biggest Loser, and many more, nuanced British TV presenter and actor Davina McCall recently took to her official Instagram handle and shared a video.

However, this video post quickly went viral on social media and the internet, sending shock waves across fans and celebrities. For those unaware, in the video, Davina, dressed in a serene white attire, is talking to her fans and netizens about how she got a complete body and brain scan a couple of months ago to be on the safer side. However, after that scan, it was disclosed that Davina had developed a colloid cyst in her brain and was suffering from a benign brain tumour.

Explaining the same, she shared, “A few months ago, I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was going to ace. But it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst, which is very rare – three in a million. And so I slightly put my head in the sand for a while, and then I saw quite a few neurosurgeons. I got lots of opinions, and I realized that I have to get it taken out.”

She furthermore added how the ‘craniotomy operation’ for the cyst is much-needed for her at this moment divulged, “It’s big for the space. It fills the space. It’s 14mm wide, and it needs to come out because if it grows, it would be bad. So I’m having it removed via a craniotomy.”

She also said that during this time frame, she will be off all social media platforms for around nine days because she is going to be in the hospital all this time.

After this video went viral, many celebrities took to comments and wished her a speedy recovery. Jenny McCarthy wrote, “Thinking of you both. Everyone will be here when YOU are ready.” Julia Bradbury adds, “You are loved and supported. Sending all my love. I know how scared you are. Recover, repair, heal. See you on the other side.”

What is a Benign Brain Tumour:

For that unaware, Benign brain tumour are a mass of non-cancerous cells that slowly start growing in and around the brain. It is a non-damaging cyst that starts developing on the brain, cranial nerves, and the meninges in the skull. As of writing this article, even though benign brain tumour is curable, but if left untreated by a person, it can cause severe mental conditions for the person. In simple words, the tumour currently falls under the category of only a mere 3% of critical illness across the globe.
