BLACKPINK's Jennie Takes Legal Stand Against False Paternity Claims

BLACKPINK’s Jennie becomes a victim of controversy when an author tries to fake that he’s her biological dad. In response, the K-pop star’s agency, ODD ATELIER Entertainment, has wasted no time in coming up with a statement dismissing any link between the star and the imposter. The agency has gone ahead and sued the individual for posting fake news, character assassination, and slowing down their operations. This is a long list of sad events highlighting the daily challenges that stars face when trying to preserve their privacy and image from false statements and information.

The Imposter’s Claims and Agency’s Response

In fact, South Korean author PD Kim Hyung Jin recently came forward and said that he was BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s biological father and that his next book was inspired by her life. In response to this, ODD ATELIER Entertainment came out to dismiss the imposter as having any links with Jennie at all. The agency stressed that all information published by the author was a lie and had no relation to the artist.

Legal Action and Fan Protection

The various false claims have been strongly refuted by ODD ATELIER and legal procedures have been instituted. The agency urged the fans not to buy the work that was published without the author’s permission to avoid further loss. They had to calm down the fans by stating that legal actions are being taken against those who spread fake news especially those that are involved in defamation, sexual harassment, and malicious slander against Jennie.

Implications for Celebrity Privacy

This was one of those incidents that showed how critical celebrity privacy and exploitation of a public figure’s personal life could be. A very important precaution by the agency and management team is to protect the artist from any false claim or unauthorized publications. The pace at which ODD ATELIER moved to address the issue speaks volumes of how seriously such matters are viewed in the K-pop world.
