Nag Ashwin directed the segment titled “xLife” in the anthology film “Pitta Kathalu.” The story revolves around Vik, a cold hearted founder of a virtual reality company. Despite several warnings that his product is harming love, Vik remains unmoved until he experiences the consequences himself. Nag Ashwin continued to push creative boundaries with his short film “Bujji and Bhairava.” Set in the vibrant city of Kasi, the film takes place two years before the events of “Kalki 2898 AD.” The story follows Bhairava, a skilled bounty hunter portrayed by Prabhas, who dreams of entering the Complex, an inverted pyramid structure located at the heart of the city. To achieve this, Bhairava needs to accumulate a million ‘units.’ During his quest, he meets BU-JZ1, an AI pilot of a cargo plane, voiced by Keerthy Suresh, who is also aspiring to move up to the Complex. Together, they embark on a thrilling adventure filled with ambition, partnership, and friendship.
“Bujji and Bhairava” has IMDb ratings of 8.0 and it highlights Ashwin’s ability to tell a compelling story within a short runtime, creating rich characters and a captivating narrative that sets the stage for the expansive universe of “Kalki 2898 AD.”
