Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar have given some of the most blockbuster movie hits iconic to the Hindi film industry that are worth remembering. They were the writers who charged more at the time than what actors such as Amitabh Bachchan made in those days.
As South Indian films outperforms Bollywood in the box office collections, veteran writer Salim Khan explains the exact reasons why this has been the case suddenly.
In an interview, Salim Khan shared his opinion on why the audience is moving towards movies and shows based in South India. He said, “The reason is that in our films the audience received great action. They had good dance sequences and song numbers, the heroines were also very beautiful, like Sridevi.”
He further added, “Today the movies we used to serve the audience, the content our films used to provide, those same elements are being offered by the South Indian movie industry. They have very good action, they have newer actresses, and the performances are also great. Their songs are good, all the things are better than us. If viewers are getting better content and entertainment there, they would obviously get diverted.”
Salim Khan and Javed Aktar have gifted Bollywood classic film stories like Sholay, Zanjeer, Trishul, Deewar, Kanti and Don. There are talks that the two are set to reunite for a new project that are still under wraps.
