In October 2018, former actress Tanushree Dutta filed a complaint against actor Nana Patekar as she accused him of harassing her on the sets of ‘Horn Ok Pleasss’. This created a huge stir and strengthened the ‘Me Too’ campaign on social media.
Later in 2019, the police filed the final report before the magistrate court highlighting that the probe into the matter did not find anything incriminating against any of the accused. In its report, the police noted that the FIR had been found to be false.

In legal terms, the aforementioned report from the police is called a ‘B-Summary’. Essentially, it is a document indicating that after probe, the police believe there is not enough proof to continue a criminal case against the accused.
Just recently, a Mumbai court has finally granted its judgement on the highly monitored ‘Me Too’ matter. The court has refused to take cognisance of allegations against Nana Patekar. Tanushree had accused Nana of harrassing her in 2008.
The reason provided for not taking cognisance of the ‘Me Too’ allegations is that Tanushree had filed the complaint “beyond the period of limitation” and did not explain the reason for the delay in the complaint.
On Friday, the Metropolitan Magistrate NV Bansal said: “No reason before me to take cognisance after a long lapse of more than 7 years after the expiry of the period of limitation.” Nana has yet to react after this decision by the court.
Is ‘Me Too’ case against Nana Patekar still open?
The prominent ‘Me Too’ case Tanushree Dutta filed against Nana Patekar back in 2018 is still open, her legal representative Nitin Satpute said on Saturday, as per reports. His statement phones hours after Tanushree accuses Nana’s PR team of misleading the media.
The former actress stressed in one of her Instagram stories that the ‘Me Too’ case against Nana has not been dismissed. Rather, the B-Summary report filed by the Mumbai police has been dismissed and deemed non-cognisable, she added.
“Nana Patekar tried to close the case on himself by filing a B-Summary but the court has rejected it,” Tanushree highlighted in a different story, adding that the case is still open and that the police are required to file a chargesheet on the case against Nana.
