Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, who spent a month in Mumbai’s Byculla Jail following the death of her boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput, opened up on her experience of getting locked up in prison. SSR was found dead at his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020. After he passed away, his father filed an FIR against Rhea and accused her of money laundering and abetment to Suicide. The case was transferred from the Mumbai Police to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED and Narcotics Control Bureau started investigation as there were allegations of money laundering and drug peddling against Rhea Chakraborty.
Experience in Byculla Jail:
While speaking on a podcast interview, Chakraborty stated, “Jail is actually a very different world because there’s no society in jail. There is a weird sense of equality. Everyone is a number, not a person. You are an Under Trial number when you are an under trial person… it’s a strange world, it’s a very evolved crowd. Because it’s just human emotion at its basic rawrest. It’s survival. You have to survive each day and each day feels like a year. It takes a long time for a day to finish because you’re literally doing nothing. There it is paused.”
Work Front:
On the work front Rhea Chakraborty was last seen in Rummy Jaffry’s film Chehre that was released in 2021. She was casted alongside Emran Hashmi and Amitabh Bachchan. After that, she appeared in Roadies Season 19 as one of the gang leaders. Recently she has launched a podcast titled “Chapter 2”.
