The latest horror comedy movie of Shraddha Kapoor, Stree 2, created a buzz in the film industry as it hit past Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal to emerge as the fifth highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. The sequel was directed by Amar Kaushik and it has impressed the viewers and also earned good money. The second part of the blockbuster horror ‘Stree’ has collected a whopping Rs 503 within three weeks only. 25 crore crossing all existing records and setting new records in the box office collection.
Box Office Triumph
This is quite an achievement by Stree 2 which has done better than Animal in terms of the total gross collection. The movie earned Rs 433 in the first two weeks of its release. 05 crore. The third week was Rs 70 more than the second week’s sales. 2 crore that too when they are competing with many big companies and other business ventures. In particular, it is necessary to mention that the film has collected Rs 5 on the Thursday. Rs 35 crore which helped the company to cross the Rs 500 crore mark of its total income.
The success of the film is boosted by its ability to outdo all the Hindi collections from Animal which was at Rs 502. 98 crore. The animal is still having a bigger collection of Rs 553 in total throughout the period. Of the 87 crore earned by Stree 2 due to the success of the film in Tamil and Telugu markets, the Hindi success of Stree 2 is an achievement in its class.
Record-Breaking Achievements
Not only has Stree 2 entered into the elite Rs 500 crore club but it has also crossed another big benchmark. It surpassed the previous record of the third week’s collection of Baahubali 2 in Hindi and Stree 2 has raked in Rs 70. 2 crore while Baahubali 2 was made on a budget of Rs 69. 75 crore.
Some of the stars that feature in this film include Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Pankaj Tripathi while cameo appearances are made by Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar, and Tamannaah Bhatia. The success of Stree 2 has also raised questions of spin-off optics, especially, Shraddha Kapoor’s character spin-off as well as the enlargement of Dinesh Vijan’s Horror-Comedy universe.
Stree 2 has not only enthralled the viewers with the story as well as the performances but has also created a new record for box office collection in the Hindi film industry.
