The NEXA IIFA Utsavam Awards, the biggest celebration of South Indian cinema is scheduled to happen on September 27th, 2024 at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. A list of celebrities from Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries will grace the occasion to honor the future of Indian cinema.
The IIFA Utsavam to be held this year is expected to pay tribute to South Indian cinema’s great contribution not only to the Indian movie industry but also to the world of cinema. It will focus on the creativity, the variety of stories, and the artistry of the four South Indian film industries.
A Stellar Lineup of Superstars
The chief guest of the event will be Megastar Chiranjeevi who is going to be presented with a special award for his contribution to the Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema. Assuming the stage with him will be Mega Power Star Ram Charan who has given many blockbuster movies and will add charm and zeal to the event. Their appearance is enough to create sparks in the night and have the viewers fixated on the screen.
With them will be the world’s recognized beauty queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who is one of the most famous faces in Indian cinema. Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu who has proved her versatility in acting and Nandamuri Balakrishna who is the icon of Telugu cinema will grace the event.
Tributes to Icons of Cinema
The IIFA Utsavam Awards will also honor some of the most revered personalities of South Indian cinema. Renowned director Mani Ratnam who has given some remarkable movies will be present and some members of the cast and crew of Ponniyin Selvan his masterpiece will also be present. Also present will be Kamal Haasan who has remained an active actor in the Indian film industry for six decades. Internationally acclaimed music maestro A.R. Rahman who has enthralled audiences through his melodious music and Resul Pookutty, an Oscar-winning sound designer will be present in the event. Their presence gives testimony to the fact that South Indian cinema has made its mark on the world in the past years.
Besides the stalwarts, the newcomers also have a place in the event with Siva Karthikeyan, Simbu (STR), and Nivin Pauly expected to perform. These actors have risen through the ranks from performing great stunts to amassing a huge fan base, and have thus become some of the most popular actors. Notably, acclaimed cinematographer, Ravi Varman and art director Thota Tharani will be awarded for their outstanding work in making such beautiful motion pictures.
