Gunfire was reported in Vancouver when bullets were sprayed at the house of Punjabi singer and rapper, AP Dhillon. While the artist has not come out to speak about the attack, according to the reports, the gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Godara have taken the responsibility of the attack. This event happened shortly after singer AP Dhillon worked with Bollywood actor Salman Khan on a music video and people started fearing that the threats from the Bishnoi gang are increasing. The shooting has raised more concern among celebrities and their entourage who have been on the rise being attacked by gangsters.
The Incident and Its Background
One fine day in Vancouver, the calmness of the day was disturbed with the sound of gunshots heard near the house of AP Dhillon, a famous artist in the Punjabi music industry. The event that occurred in the entertainment industry has caught everyone’s attention and is reported to have a connection with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Although, there has not been any word from Dhillon regarding the attack, it is believed that the gangsters involved have owned up to the attack and have threatened the ‘singer’ to ‘stick to his limits’ otherwise he will be in trouble. This threat brings out the violent side of the gang that has been involved in crime related activities in India as well as other countries.
The recent collaboration of AP Dhillon with Salman Khan on the music video “Old Money” is said to have led to this latest attack. The video also stars Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt where the story is depicted in which Salman Khan rescues AP Dhillon and his companion in a fight scene. Though the music video was much appreciated by fans, it appears that it attracted the wrong element in society.
The Salman Khan Connection
Bollywood actor Salman Khan who is one of the biggest stars in India has also had his brush with the Bishnoi gang. The gang, which has had bitter grudge against Khan for quite some time now especially after the blackbuck poaching issue has now threatened to harm those connected to the actor. In July, Bollywood actor Salman Khan implicated Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi in the shooting incident that took place in front of his residence in Mumbai and this was done through a chargesheet by the Mumbai Police. The Bollywood superstar has been on the radar of the Bishnoi gang for quite some time now with multiple attempts being made on his life in the last few years.
But now that AP Dhillon is related to Salman Khan via the “Old Money” music video, he has become a target of the gang. The gangsters, who are known to have ties with celebrities, seem to be wasting no time in making their intentions to those affiliated to or associated with Salman Khan known. The recent shooting incident outside AP Dhillon’s residence has further fuelled the debate about the protection of celebrities and their entourage especially those affiliated with Salman Khan.
Growing Threats to Celebrities
What happened to AP Dhillon’s home is not a one-off incident. In the recent past, it has become a common feature for criminal groups to kidnap celebrities and other persons of influence. Especially the Bishnoi gang of criminals who have been involved in such incidents and they also use their fame to threaten the rich and wealthy people. Some of the most famous individuals threatened by them are Bollywood actor, Salman Khan, who has been living under heavy security after the attempt on his life outside his Mumbai home.
The recent events have called for increased security in celebrities particularly those who have become a target because of their connections. The entertainment industry, which many movies and shows portray as great to have access to power, now has to deal with the consequences of such interactions.
