Prominent actor, producer and entrepreneur Alia Bhatt is set to host her first Hope Gala in London on March 28. Reports suggest she will host the charity event at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park on Thursday, in support of her chosen charity Salaam Bombay.
The charitable organisation is focused on supporting Mumbai’s ‘at-risk’ children through in-school programmes (leadership and advocacy) and after-school academies (skill building) in an effort to help the most vulnerable build their confidence and self-esteem.
Salaam Bombay Foundation shines light on fitness
Overall, the Salaam Bombay Foundation (SBF) seeks to empower children to make the right choices for their health, education and livelihood. The upcoming Hope Gala is expected to be attended by prolific industrialists and philanthropists from India and the UK.
For the unversed, SBF’s Sports Academy recently organised a mentoring session with Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane for its ‘Fitness Monitors’ students studying in municipal or government-aided schools. The objective was to inspire youngsters to adopt a lifestyle of fitness.
