In a sudden press meet for the film Mr and Mrs Mahi, actors Jhanvi Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao revealed a few fun facts about the film prior release. The film is set to hit the theatres on May 31st. This is to be the second biopic made on Former Indian Captain and Cricketer MS Dhoni after the first one starring Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput who played the lead character in the previous film.
In this press meet for the music tracks release, the co-stars complemented each other by answering all the questions by the media. Jhanvi, a big fan of MSD herself was seen explaining how the cricketer has inspired a generation of young budding cricketers hailing from far off small towns. She went on to add how MS always treats his fans with a soft and tender nature and how he has earned his name to be the Captain Cool. She said how the star batter has always focussed on the process rather than the wins thus showing his nature of understanding of the game and why he is referred to as one of the greats having played the gentleman’s game.
In this film Jhanvi plays the role of Sakhshi Dhoni with her co-star Rajkumar playing the lead character of Mahi himself. Sharan Sharma is the director of this film. Those who have watched the 1st biopic would love to hear that many of the actors involved in that have been casted in this sequel, it can be called a sequel. The main cast includes acting gems like Zarina Wahab, Kumud Mishra, Rajesh Sharma and Purnendu Bhattacharya among others.
Responding to a question about Rao’s training session for doing the biopic sequel, Rao and Jhanvi agreed to the amount of training sessions both had to take in order to achieve the fitness and look of MSD and his wife respectively.
Let’s see how this film performs at the box office. It’s expected to be a cracker as the timing is very right now due to the IPL going on. The movie also reminds us how Sushant brilliantly portrayed the lead character and also is a sort of homage to him and Thala (MSD himself).
