Nayanthara’s issues related to releasing her documentary on Netflix:
With only two more days remaining for the documentary film to release on global OTT giant Netflix, it feels like ‘Jawan’ actress Nayanthara’s troubles seem to be never-ending. After failing to obtain the required NOC from Dhanush to use the footage from the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her Netflix documentary film, the actress has now openly posted a well-detailed letter through her official Instagram handle that slams the ‘Maari’ fame South industry megastar Dhanush for his refusal to let her use the film footage in her documentary film.
In terms of getting her much-awaited documentary released on Netflix, she has revealed the various roadblocks that she faces daily. In all those points, one primary issue is being unable to get a NOC and permission from Dhanush to use the songs, clips, and photos from the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the Netflix documentary film. More so, she gave an in-depth detail of the traumatic and painful experiences surrounding the release of her Netflix documentary.
Nayanthara’s open letter slamming Dhanush on Instagram:
In an open letter addressing the bonafide actor and producer Dhanush about her problems and issues surrounding her documentary film’s release on Netflix, she wrote, “A well-established actor like you, with the support and blessings of your father and your brother, an ace director, needs to read and understand this. Cinema, – as we all know, is a fight for survival for people like me: a self-made woman with no links in the industry and someone who had to struggle my way to the position I hold today. I would owe this to my work ethic, which is no secret to all who know me, but more importantly, to the goodwill of the audience and my film fraternity.
The release of my Netflix documentary has been much awaited by not just me, – but many of my fans and well-wishers. It took a whole team of collaborators and film friends to pull together the project through all the difficulties thrown at us. The vengeance that you have been festering against the film, my partner, and I, doesn’t just affect us but the people who have given their effort and time towards this project. This NetFlix Documentary about me, my life, my love, and marriage includes clips of many of my industry well-wishers who have graciously contributed and memories from multiple films – but sadly, it does not include the most special and important film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. After two long years of battling it out with you for an NOC (No Objection Certificate) and waiting for your approval for our NetFlix documentary release, we finally decided to give up, re-edit, and settle for the current version since you declined to permit the usage of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan songs or visual cuts, even the photographs to say the least despite multiple requests.”

Nayanthara’s pain at being denied to use footage from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan:
The Netflix documentary film highlights the most pivotal moments from her illustrious career, love life, and marriage, including many precious moments from her smashing hit feature films. It also included Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, a film close to her heart and life. But, despite repeated attempts, Dhanush, the producer and a part of the film, rejected his consent and did not permit to use any content from it. Nayanthara opens up on her dismay, accentuating that the denial, which she believes originates from personal resentment, has hurt her badly and affected the entire team who has been working tirelessly behind the documentary.
Nayanthara’s anger at the legal notice from Dhanush suing her for 10 crores:
Expressing her shock and anger at the legal notice from Dhanush and citing that he is not what he portrays himself to be in front of his fans and media and audiences as well, she stated, “What’s even more shocking is your legal notice after the release of the trailer of the Netflix Documentary. We were startled to read those lines wherein you questioned the usage of some videos (just 3 seconds) shot on our – personal devices, and that too BTS visuals that are already very much publicly present on social media and claimed a sum of Rs.10 crores as damages for the mere 3 seconds. It is an all-time low from you and speaks so much about your character. I wish you were half the person you portray to be on stage in audio launches in front of your innocent fans, but clearly, you do not practice what you preach, at least not for me and my partner.”
Speaking of the awaited documentary film on Netflix, Lady Superstar Nayanthara’s documentary film has been directed by Amrith Krishnan. It also features never-seen-before interviews and an in-depth glance into the Anaamika fame actress’s professional and personal life.
