Superstar Deepika Padukone, prominent for notable roles in Fighter, Pathaan, Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, Chennai Express and XXX: Return of Xander Cage, took to Instagram on Friday evening to share a poster from her upcoming project – ‘Singham Again‘.
Padukone plays a character named Shakti Shetty in the Rohit Shetty directorial. She is seen in the poster dressed in a cop’s uniform, recreating Inspector Bajirao Singham’s (played by Ajay Devgn) iconic pose. The picture has been receiving great attention so far.
Fans go crazy about Lady Singham Deepika Padukone
Until Saturday 4:30 pm, the poster has been liked by more than 1.02 netizens and lured over 5,000 comments. One person commented: “How does MOTHER slay each and every role she plays?” and another demanded a “Deepika-Kareena song” in the film.
Sharing the poster on social media, the director captioned: “My Hero … Reel mein bhi aur real mein bhi (in reel and real too). Lady Singham!!!” Padukone commented on his post: “Let’s do this!” The film is set to hit theatres on India’s Independence Day this year.
Besides Deepika Padukone, ‘Singham Again‘ also stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Jackie Shroff and Dayanand Shetty in prominent roles. It is the third installment of the hit franchise.
Introducing Rohit Shetty’s cop universe
The lead character, Shakti Shetty, was introduced in October 2023. Padukone shared posters of her look from the project on Instagram and captioned the post: “Introducing … Shakti Shetty! #SinghamAgain.” In the poster, the actress donned the cop uniform for the first time.
Rohit Shetty’s cop universe is immensely popular globally. Devgn initiated the cop series in Singham 2011. He can be seen in 2013 Singham Returns too. Ranveer Singh is seen as a police officer in 2018 Simmba and the 2021 Sooryavanshi featured Akshay Kumar in lead role.
