Now on April 11 2024 on the special occasion of Eid Ajay Devgn’s most anticipated sports drama movie Maidaan was released. Before the release of the movie, there was a lot of anticipation and excitement regarding the movie but unfortunately, Maidaan did not do well in the theatres.
On the special occasion of Eid not only Maidaan was released but Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ also hit the theatres on the same day. Maidaan was in a tough battle with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan at the box office. However, both movies are almost earning similar amounts nowadays.

Maidaan is a Bollywood sports drama movie directed by Amit Sharma. This movie follows the life story of Syed Abdul Rahim, India’s most celebrated coach. Movie is set during the times of 1952-1962. The movie highlights his struggles when Indians lost the Olympics in 1952. He later wanted to create a team of his own and unite talent from all over India into one strong and united football team. This movie highlights his dedication, determination, and hard work because of which he has created history. The star cast of the movie includes Ajay Devgn, Priyamani, Nitanshi Goel, Amartya Ray, Boman Irani, and Gajraj Rao among others.

In its first week,movie earned Rs.28.35 Crores. On its opening day the movie started its journey in theatres with Rs. 7.10 Crores out of which it earned Rs.2.6 from paid reviews. Second day it earned Rs.2.75 Crores following the third day the movie earned a good amount of Rs.5.75 Crores. On its fourth day, the movie earned Rs. 6.4 Crores. From the fifth day, the movie witnessed a decrease in its earnings with Rs.1.5 Crores following the earnings of the sixth day of Rs.1.6 crores. Maidaan on its seventh day earned only Rs.2 Crores whereas on eight days the earnings decreased to Rs.1.25 Crores. On the second Friday, the ninth day the movie recorded earnings of Rs.1.40 crores.
