It's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan vs Maidaan as the movies gear up for an Eid face-off

The box office has finally started picking up a substantial pace as ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan vs Maidaan’ grabs the limelight. Both films are preparing for an Eid face-off after makers of the highly-anticipated actioner decided to push the release date by a day.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan – starring Akshay Kumar, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Tiger Shroff in key roles – and Maidaan – based on the golden era of football (1952-62) and featuring Ajay Devgn in lead – have finally started seeing sizeable numbers on ticket booking platforms.

The figures include tickets for paid previews too – to take place this evening, followed by a full-fledged release on Eid al-Fitr on Thursday. Though the number of tickets booked for first day for both the films have seen a rise, they are still lukewarm for the Eid holiday period.

The big-scale Bade Miyan Chote Miyan – an Ali Abbas Zafar directorial – a projected to mint 15 Cr rupees on Eid 2024, and Maidaan – helmed by Amit Sharma – could bring in 7 Cr rupees. The films shall then pretty much have an open run, with no big releases lined up the entire month.
