The IIFA Utsavam 2024 is going to present a special award to the Telugu cinema legend Chiranjeevi revealed recently. This September, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi will host an event that is dedicated to South Indian cinema at the Etihad Arena.
A Prestigious Recognition
Chiranjeevi also popular as the ‘Superhero Megastar of Indian Cinema’ will be honored with the IIFA Utsavam Special Honor for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema’. This comes after Chiranjeevi received the Padma Vibhushan award one of the highest honors that the Indian government awards to its citizens for achievements in various fields including the film industry.

Andre Timmins, Founder and Director of IIFA, expressed his excitement about honoring Chiranjeevi:

Timmins stressed Chiranjeevi and said that he is a versatile actor, charming, hardworking and that he can do any role, he has acted in many films and has won several awards. He stressed that ‘Chiranjeevi’s legacy’ is still felt in the current generation of Indian cinema and referred to him as a force to reckon with in the context of the industry and as a creative force’ in his own right.

Upon learning of the award, Chiranjeevi shared his thoughts: Upon learning of the award, Chiranjeevi shared his thoughts:
“It is truly a great privilege and honor that I have been bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the IIFA Utsavam. I am truly blessed to have had the support of my fans and well-wishers throughout my five-decade long journey in the film industry which is a true testimony of the love that I have received.”
He also mentioned his participation in humanitarian organizations, where he said that he makes an effort to express his thankfulness through work in humanitarian organizations on and off the camera.
A Grand Celebration of Indian Cinema
In IIFA Festival 2024, the spectators are going to be able to see the performances of superstars from five successful film industries of India. This is also the further goal of the IIFA to present the versatility and quality of Indian cinema in the global market.
Organizing this glamorous event in Yas Island Abu Dhabi has further cemented the fact that Indian cinema is gradually going global and so is the IIFA and its efforts that have been put in to make the awards global.
When the days for September come, the movie freaks especially the lovers of the South Indian movies will be in for a treat as the South Indian movie industrial prepares to celebrate this event with the living legends like Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna.
