Devara: Part 1, which has Jr NTR in the lead, has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after it was passed through four changes. Koratala Siva helming this film, this is a high voltage film part of a two-part series set in the forgotten coastline of India. The film also stars Jhanvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan and the promotions and reviews of the movie have gone viral among the audience. With its certification, Devara: Part 1 is planned to be released in theaters on September 27, 2024, where the viewers can expect an intense action movie.
Cut Modifications for U/A Certification
Devara: Part 1 went through four major changes to get the U/A rating:
1. Violence Against Women – Two scenes of Domestic Violence against female characters – one of a man who kicks his wife and another in which a man kicks his mother were changed.
2. Graphic Violence – A five-second scene of a character sliding down a sword was also cut.
3. CGI Disclaimer – One of the most-watched scenes where Jr NTR is riding a shark needed a disclaimer that the shark was made using computer graphics.
Plot and Cast
Set in the forgotten coastal lands of India, Devara as for part 1 it is an action drama movie filled with fast-paced action scenes. Jr NTR is the protagonist Devara while Jhanvi Kapoor is Thangam and Saif Ali Khan plays the role of antagonist Bhaira. The film is said to be action-packed and features some of the best performances.
Excitement and Box Office Performance
The film has already received a lot of attention in India and North America; it is the Indian movie that sold 35000 tickets within the shortest time possible. This pre-release hype has set rather high expectations in terms of the film’s box-office success.
