The upcoming Action thriller, ‘Deva’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde is slated for a new release date, confirmed by the makers. The movie was first planned for February 14 release but just pulled closer for release on January 31, 2024.
The news is confirmed through a post that read, “Sit tight, ‘cause the wait just got shorter! The Action Cop thriller directed by Rosshan Andrrews is sketched “Around a brilliant yet rebellious police officer who uncovers a web of deceit and betrayal while investigating a high-profile case.” read the IMDb snippet of the movie. While Shahid Kapoor plays a brave cop Deva, Pooja Hegde is said to be playing the role of a Journalist, also making a fresh pair on screen.
The movie began production in 2022 with the active on set production taking off from 2023. Rosshan Andrrews, a famous and talented Malayalam filmmaker with movies like ‘Salute’, ‘How Old Are You’ and ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’ is making his debut in Bollywood along with his usual writers duo, Bobby- Sanjay. The movie is bankrolled by Siddharth Roy Kapoor while the music is composed by the duo Sachet- Parampara and the background score composed by Jakes Bejoy, from Andrrews’ crew.
Pooja Hegde was last seen on screen in the 2023 Hindi release, ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ and is awaiting few exciting releases in 2025 including one with Suriya and another with Vijay in Tamil. Shahid Kapoor’s 2024 release along with Kriti Sanon, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljah Jiya’ being his latest release. It is also to be noted that Pooja Hegde’s collaboration with Ahaan Shetty under the Nadiadwala Grandson Production is also slated for release on February 14, 2025.
