Known for chart-topping songs like OK Jaanu, Nadaan Parinde, Jai Ho, Maa Tujhe Salaam, and many more, the Indian musical maestro and Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu have now decided to file for a divorce and go their separate ways.
AR Rahman married his estranged wife, Saira Banu, in 1995 at the age of 28. The couple are parents to three children, two daughters and one son. After nearly three decades of love and cherished togetherness as a couple, Rahman’s wife Saira’s team of competent lawyers dropped a joint statement on Tuesday, officially confirming their split.
Revealing that the news of their divorce and separation is authentic, the statement reads, “After many years of marriage, Mrs Saira and AR Rahman have made the difficult decision to separate. This decision comes after significant emotional strain in their relationship.”
Revealing that despite their love for each other being pure and deep as a couple the couple has had irreconcilable differences due to the strains and problems which have only amplified the distance between them both, the statement added, “Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time.”
Finally, the statement concludes by sharing, “Mrs. Saira emphasised that she has taken this decision out of pain and agony. Mrs Saira requests privacy and understanding from the public during this challenging time, as she navigates this difficult chapter in her life.”
An official tweet by a media critic confirming the divorce news of the couple has posted the picture of an official statement with a caption that reads, “Maestro @arrahman and his wife Saira announce separation. Mrs Saira requests privacy and understanding from the public during this challenging time, as she navigates this difficult chapter in her life :-(.”
