The much-awaited Tamil movie of Rajinikanth, has Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati acting in the same film. The massive collaboration will be between some of the biggest stars in India, to be helmed by TJ Gnanavel. Producers recently unveiled Amitabh Bachchan’s character Sathyadev. Scheduled for 10 October release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, this one seems to have all the good ingredients for an exciting script, with the performers backing it up. Besides Amitabh, several other relevant character visuals have been released, and hint at what’s in store.
Amitabh Bachchan as Sathyadev: A Dynamic Role
Amitabh Bachchan will play the role of Sathyadev in Vettaiyan, for which he has been spoken much. The directors have released a behind-the-scenes video where they have showcased his on-set interaction with Rajinikanth, while pointing out the presence and performance of Bachchan in it. Although the video proves Amitabh to be a thorough professional, it leaves one hungering for more. The producers have promised a “groundbreaking performance” from the legend with its release date being 10th October.
The career graph of Amitabh Bachchan has passed the test of many languages, so it is important in itself that the Telugu film debut has been made with this film. The build-up surrounding the character’s introduction sets the expectation for fans to witness a strong and commanding performance by Amitabh Bachchan, supported by another beloved star of Indian cinema – Rajinikanth.

Ensemble Cast: Introducing Six Key Characters
Not only does the film boast a brilliant lineup with Amitabh Bachchan as Sathyadev but the rest of Vettaiyan cast also. Ritika Singh plays the dedicated cop Roopa, and Dushara Vijayan plays the role of Saranya, the teacher. Manju Warrier plays Thara, the love interest. The most prominent roles played by Rana Daggubati (Natraj) and Fahadh Faasil (Patrick) seem an enigmatic mystery; only limited details are found in the introductory videos.
It has locations across several cities, which include Thiruvananthapuram, Tirunelveli, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. This obviously suggests that it is sweeping with several different intertwined storylines meant to bring these characters together.
Rajinikanth and Amitabh: A Long-Awaited Reunion
The highlight of Vettaiyan is, of course, the reteaming of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth-something that hasn’t happened for 33 years, ever since the iconic Bollywood film Hum. Everybody was eagerly waiting for this reunion. Amitabh has posted some statements praising his humility. Being down-to-earth, he has got all the fame. Amitabh Bachchan is looking very excited working with Rajinikanth again because, as he says, “he is a dynamic star” and “down-to-earth friend”. These facts add to the excitement and longing of fans, who have been awaiting this cinematic moment.
Vettaiyan is also an important film for Rajinikanth, being his 170th film in a couple of decades’ acting career. With the release of this film coinciding with Dussehra, it gets the celebratory factor attached to it as well, making the venture one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year.
