Highlights
Global superstar Alia Bhatt’s latest movie ‘Jigra’ released in theatres on October 11. But it has been “underperforming” in comparison to expectations. The Vasan Bala directorial has accumulated a total of Rs 18.10 crore so far.
Jigra also stars Vedang Raina of ‘The Archies’ fame. This crime fiction drama centres on Satya (played by Bhatt). She is determined to rescue her brother Ankur (Raina) from a foreign prison as he has been framed for a crime he didn’t actually commit.
On Monday, a trade analyst highlighted some of the possible reasons behind Jigra’s not-so-satisfactory box office collection, such as “urban-centric appeal” that limits the movie’s reach beyond a handful of major centres.
#Jigra has underperformed in its opening weekend… The numbers should've been higher, much higher, especially considering that #GangubaiKathiawadi [2022] and #Raazi [2018] – both women-centric films starring #AliaBhatt – opened to significantly stronger numbers.

Alia Bhatt has ADHD?
During a recent conversation, the actress spoke about her struggle to remain fully present in the moment as she tries to address ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder). She revealed that she had been zoning out during discussions since her childhood.
Bhatt said: “I used to get zoned out from a young age. I used to get zoned out in the classroom during conversations. Recently, I did a psychological test and found out that I’m high on the ADHD spectrum.” She noted that she had no clue about the situation until the diagnosis.
In an earlier conversation, Bhatt highlighted that she doesn’t spend more than 45 minutes in the makeup chair, stating: “It needs to be something that you can do very quickly. I … don’t have interest in investing too much time.”
Common signs of ADHD to look out for
1. Difficulty paying attention
People with ADHD often struggle to concentrate. They find it relatively more difficult to focus on tasks that require sustained mental exercises. They are very likely to face difficulties in completing tasks or following conversations, easily losing track of details.
2. Impulsivity and restlessness
Hyperactivity can lead to fidgeting – the act of making small but repetitive movements that are often unintentional. People having ADHD feel the constant need to move. The adult ones may feel a sense of inner restlessness.
3. Forgetfulness and difficulty staying organised
These individuals often forget appointments, deadlines and everyday tasks. They might lose items like keys or phones at regular intervals. Moreover, they are also likely to face difficulties organising tasks, personal things and thoughts.
4. Chronic procrastination
People with ADHD frequently start multiple projects but rarely complete them. They become easily distracted. These individuals are also likely to delay starting or finishing tasks, especially the ones that they find challenging or boring.
5. Poor listening skills
This condition is infamous for making people easily distracted. They can struggle to stay focused during conversations, leading to missing important information or misunderstanding. These people might come across as not paying attention or actively listening.
