A shocking event was the attempt of Bollywood actor and member of the Indian Parliament Govinda on the morning of October 1, 2024 he accidentally shot himself in the leg with a licensed revolver. The mishap occurred around 4:45 a.m. at his Juhu residence in Mumbai, as he was about to leave for the airport, to fly to Kolkata. The gun was said to have jammed after it fell off a cupboard. Govinda was immediately taken to CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai where he is currently admitted and in a stable condition. The police have taken up the matter and the revolver is with the police for further investigation. Even after the accident, Govinda has not registered any official complaint to the police.
The Incident: What Happened?
The accident took place when Govinda was packing to check in for a flight to Kolkata at 6.00 a.m. They also testified that one time while handling a revolver, it slipped and fired. Fortunately the injury was not serious and the actor is now gaining his or her strength back.
The occurrence happened at a time when Govinda, a famous Bollywood actor, and a Shiv Sena leader was preparing to perform in Kolkata. It was said that the revolver tripped and fired when it slipped from where it was placed in the cupboard. This led to the shooting of Govinda in his leg. His manager who had already landed at the airport said they were due to fly at 6 a.m. and the mishap happened when Govinda was packing to leave his house. Fortunately, they only broke his leg and he is not in a very bad state right now.
Manager’s Statement
The manager of actor Govinda said that they were lucky the accident was not fatal and credited the actor’s minor injury to God’s intervention. He said it could have been worse had the revolver discharged more dangerously. The manager also clarified that the actor was in good spirits and would be fit soon after the accident happened.

Kirti Kumar Clarifies the Injury
There are always some or the other rumors going around regarding Govinda’s health, and finally, his brother Kirti Kumar cleared all the doubts saying that everything is fine with the actor. Kirti also clarified that though it was rumored that he had injured his thigh, in fact it was his toe. He stressed on the fact that the actor is on the road to recovery, and asked people not to dwell too much on the injury but instead, worry about Govinda.
Govinda’s Message to Fans
The actor thanked his fans and the medical staff through a statement he recorded from his hospital bed. He said he was getting well and expressed gratitude to his doctor and well wishers for their prayers. He also said that the revolver went off accidentally while being kept hence causing the shot.
