Indian reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ is all set to come back for its 18th season with superstar Salman Khan as the host. There are rumors of a new ‘past, present and future’ theme which may change the format of the show and the house. As for the rumors concerning the return of some of the previous contestants, casting is still open. This new concept comes up after the previous season’s “Dil, Dimaag, and Dum” tagline. Considering Salman’s recent promo shoot and the constant success of the show, Bigg Boss 18 provides the audience with the new enthusiasm for the show when it will start later this year.
A New Dimension: Past, Present And Future.
As per the latest updates, the upcoming season, that is Bigg Boss 18, is speculated to have a path breaking theme based on the idea of time. The show shall apparently focus on aspects of the past, the present and the future, something that has not been witnessed in the previous seasons of the show. This new strategy is believed to bring about not only the flow of the show’s content but also the architecture of the famous Bigg Boss house.
The current face of the franchise is Salman Khan who has already shot the promo of the next season, that is the seventh season. It is believed that the promotional material which should be out by the end of the month will give the viewers an insight on how the theme of time will be incorporated into the show.
Speculation and Show Format
It is important to note that the new theme has caused excitement however, some people are wondering whether the show will bring back contestants from previous seasons.However, insiders have it that no concrete preparations in this regard are being implemented as the casting process for the new season continues. This approach is an exception to the previous season slogan of “Dil, Dimaag, and Dum” in which the contestants were grouped to distinct categories according to their supposed abilities.
The fact that past contestants may be included if the idea is put into practice would just be a plus in terms of show relations since new and old faces can be brought into the show. But, the production team appears to be more interested in setting the final list of cast members before proceeding to such considerations.
Salman Khan: The Constant in Bigg Boss Evolution
The fact that Salman Khan remains a part of Bigg Boss only goes on to show how much the show needs him. Since the fourth season of the main series, Salman has been the host of the Bigg Boss show and he has become the face of the show. His recent show, Bigg Boss OTT 2 also strengthened this bond, though Anil Kapoor replaced him for the third season of OTT version because of his other commitments.
While the next season of Bigg Boss 18 is gearing up to bring a time travel concept to the show, Salman’s continuity acts as a relief from the changes. While the show has gone through various changes over the years, his ability to adapt to the various changes while still being true to his charismatic hosting style has been very important to the franchise.
