The show that airs on MTV is a dating reality show named Splitsvilla and the 15th season came to an end on Sunday the 11th of August 2024 and the winners were Jashwanth Bopanna and Akriti Negi. The finale episode aired on Colors Infinity and was hosted by Sunny Leone and Tanuj Virwani and had drama such as a twist of betrayal and the final competition. The winning couple was very close to the second Harsh Arora and Rushali Yadav, who they beat only in the final task, with a difference of five seconds. This season of Splitsvilla was a season of competition, drama and drama that even made the host cry.
A Dramatic Finale
Splitsvilla 15 finale was full of twists and turns which made the audience glued to their television sets. Mischief Maker Uorfi Javed presented the finalists with a challenging choice: to fight for the title or win Rs 10 lakhs, he or she has to cheat his/her partner. Jashwanth-Akriti and Harsh-Rushali competed for the title and Kashish Kapoor betrayed Digvijay Singh Rathee to take the money.
It was such an emotional act of betrayal that even the host Sunny Leone was brought to tears. The last assignment was a strenuous activity that would put the stamina of the couples to the extreme limit. The competition was very close and the winners Jashwanth and Akriti won the race by only five seconds from their opponents.
Winners’ Reactions and Prize
Jashwanth Bopanna and Akriti Negi emerged as the winners of Splitsvilla 15, along with a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs. Akriti also said she was happy to be crowned the winner of MTV Splitsvilla X5 with her partner, Jashwanth.
Jashwanth, who has been a runner up in the previous reality shows put it this way, “It is an extremely proud moment for me to be the title holder of India’s original dating reality show especially when I have come close to winning the title in my two previous reality shows But it has made me realize that hard work does not go unrewarded.”
A Season of Controversy and Drama
Splitsvilla 15 was probably one of the most controversy-filled seasons of the show. Some of the controversies that were experienced in the show included bringing back the ex-flames of many contestants. Some contestants attracted controversy for their fights on Instagram live and for the fact that they were in real-life relationships.
The season also featured some contestants who would later become fixtures on other reality TV shows. Currently, one of the participants of Khatron Ke Khiladi Arbaaz Shaikh participates in Bigg Boss Marathi Season 5. There are speculations that Digvijay, Kashish, and Siwet Tomar are to be a part of Bigg Boss 18 which means that Splitsvilla could lead to more reality shows for them.
