She purchased between fifty to sixty saris, selecting them with the help of Banarasi craftsmen and merchants whom she invited to her hotel. By placing orders with several weavers, Ambani showcased her sincere admiration and appreciation for their dedication and skills.

The Lakkha Buti Sari
One of the saris that grabbed Nita Ambani’s attention was the Lakkha Buti, finely crafted by Banarasi handloom weaver Chhote Lal Pal. “If Nita Ambani wears a sari made by me at her son’s wedding, everyone will see it on TV and social media. This recognition makes our generation’s work seem successful.” Pal said.

Pal, a third generation weaver, explained the labyrinthine process of making the Lakkha Buti sari, which takes 60 to 62 days to complete as the process involves preparing the loom thrice. Each sari is handmade using genuine zari assimilating strands of gold and silver, with prices ranging from Rs 1.5-2 lakhs to Rs 5-6 lakhs.
The Hazara Buti Sari
Among the unique saris purchased by Nita Ambani was the Hazara Buti, featuring over 35,000 silver Butis and taking 40-45 days to complete. This sari elucidates the punctilious craftsmanship and dedication of Banarasi weavers.
The Upcoming Anant-Radhika Wedding
As the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant approaches, preparations are in full swing. The wedding will blend tradition and modernity and is scheduled to take place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The main ceremonies will begin on July 12 with Shubh Vivah, followed by Shubh Aashirwad on July 13 and concluding with Mangal Utsav on July 14. Guests are encouraged to dress in traditional Indian attires to fully embrace the ambience of celebrations.
