Highlights
Kalki 2898 AD was announced back in Feb 2020 under the title Project K, with the production team aiming for a release in 2022. However the pandemic delayed the project till January 2024. It was further moved to May 9 by the movie makers but due to the general elections, the film is finally to be released in June.

The cast of Kalki 2898 AD consists of Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Hasan in male lead roles. The film is directed and written by Nag Ashwin. It also stars Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and Keerthy Suresh in female leads. In supporting roles, Sashwata Chatterjee and Dilquer Salman can be seen. Mrunal Thakur, Ram Gopal Verma and SS Rajamouli can be seen in small cameos while Rana Daggubati is seen on the screen too.

Plot and Story –
Kalki 2898 AD is an epic mythological science fiction story originally filmed in Telugu & Hindi simultaneously produced by C Aswani Dutt and Vyjayanthi Movies.
The plot goes as Kalki (Prabhas), a modern day avatar of Lord Vishnu, is awakened with the invocation of Ashwathama (Amitabh Bachchan). Kalki’s mission is to protect the world from the evil of Kaali (Kamal Hassan), his adversary, using advanced technology, armour and weapons.
Budget of the Film –
The film budget has a staggering figure reaching INR 600 crore. It is one of the most expensive films made till date in the history of the Tamil and Hindi film industry.
