Indian superstar Aamir Khan celebrates his 60th birthday on 14th March 2025. In order to give him a tribute and honor his contribution to Indian cinema, PVR Inox has come up with an interesting idea. And that is none other than a unique film festival titled Aamir Khan: Cinema Ka Jadugar, which will run from 14 March 2025 to 27 March 2025 in theatres of the cinema exhibition company all over the country. Isn’t it a perfect celebration for Aamir fans?
The announcement of the festival was made in an event held in Mumbai attended by Aamir Khan along with veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar and PVR founder Ajay Bijli. The official trailer of the festival gave a glimpse of the amazing cinematic journey that Aamir Khan took the viewers all these years while giving Bollywood blockbusters with content-driven cinema.
Javed Akhtar who had observed Aamir Khan’s career appreciated the actor’s fearless choices of being drawn to powerful stories that connect with the viewers on an emotional level. During the discussion, Aamir also reflected on Bollywood’s current challenges in comparison to the recent success of South Indian films. He pointed out that South filmmakers continue to tap into strong, universal emotions such as love, anger, and revenge, which deeply connect with audiences. However, Bollywood has increasingly catered to a multiplex audience, often focusing on niche storytelling rather than mass appeal.
