Death Threats against Salman Khan
Actor Salman Khan has been in the receiving end of few death threats recently, one being the mentioned incident on November 5, as the message was from the contact Lawrence Bishnoi over Whatsapp demanding the actor to either go to their temple and apologise for his past or give 5 crores. If he does not do so, we will kill him, our gang is still active”, the message read from Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother after investigation.
This is not the first time Actor Salman Khan received such a threat as earlier Mumbai City Traffic Control officers received a threat demanding 2 crores from the actor and another threat from October 24, 2024 demanding 5 crores. Police immediately launched an investigation, arresting a man from Karnataka named Bikaram Jalaram Bishnoi, who claimed to be a brother of Lawrence Bishnoi.
The arrested man is a native of a village in Rajasthan who sent the following message, “This is Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to our temple and apologise or give ₹5 crore. If he does not do this, we will kill him. Our gang is still active.” The following interrogation, the Police informed that the accused was nabbed on Tuesday by the Worli Police officers.
History of feud between Salman Khan and Bishnoi
Back in 1998, during the filming of the movie ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, Salman Khan killed two blackbucks. The animal is held in high regard in the Bishnoi community. This incident haunts the star even after decades as the killing instigated the feud between Salman Khan and the Bishnoi Community.
After the incident in 1998, there was a legal battle going on to consider the values and beliefs of the Bishnoi Community and get justice for the actor’s actions. Although the legal case is dragged for years, the community is determined to follow through the arduous case.
It is Lawrence Bishnoi’s actions that led to multiple death threats along the years and a recent shooting outside Salman Khan’s house earlier this year, making this a national attention and a concern for safety.
