Highlights
2024 has been a killer year for Hindi film industry with class content, regional stories represented and well received, progressive tales still making box office collections. The story hopefully continues for the rest of the year as audiences are still hungry for good films that provide entertainment.
The line up looks like a good mixture of several stories, big banner films and small scale productions. Bollywood in 2024 stood on the shoulders of such small scale, fresh face led movies for greater reception from audience as well as the critics.
1.Aayushmati Geeta Matric Pass
A strong message film directed by Prradip Khairwar starring new talents, Kashika Kappoor, Anuj Saini with some familiar faces Alka Amin, Atul Srivastava, Pranay Dixit backing the cast. A rural story that was subjected before many times of the importance of girls education, the progressive attitude serving good for those who believe and the unfortunate existence of child marriage in some remote parts of India. The trailer looks promising for a content oriented film with good actors and emotional music, releasing on 18 October, 2024.
2.Do Patti
A romantic thriller story with Kajol, Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and written by Kanika Dhillon has been creating a buzz for itself with the release of their video song titled ‘Ranjhan’. Kriti Sanon in a dual role and is stepping into the world of production while Kajol presented in a comparatively dark, deeper character makes up for the most marketing while the disturbing twin thriller genre and a charming Shaheer Sheikh getting his big breakthrough sounds like a good recipe for a hit. ‘Do Patti’ is sadly not hitting the bigger screens and is directly releasing on Netflix on 25 October.
3.Singham Again
A proper star studded affair as never seen before, joining hands with and for Rohit Shetty in the Singham Franchise has been the talk of the town since the 4 minute long trailer dropped. A complete commercial, masala, spice mix with undoubtedly overloaded action sequences that is pure big screen material is the ‘Singham Again’ movie that is highly anticipated for a blockbuster at the end of 2024. The pumped up action movie is lined up for release on November 1.
4.Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
Another successful franchise movie known for evergreen comedy and sufficient horror is the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. The third edition directed by Anees Bazmee starring Kartik Aryan, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav and Tripti Dimri has received mixed reviews for its trailer cut while the title song that dropped today became instantly viral. This horror comedy is also chalked up for a release on November 1.
5.Kanguva (Dubbed)
One of the most hyped Pan – India films of 2024 with stars like Suriya, Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu in a periodical- fantasy movie. ‘Kanguva’ directed by Siruthai Siva is bankrolled on a humongous budget and is releasing in several Indian languages on November 14.
6.Dhadak 2
A spiritual successor of Dhadak under the same Dharma Productions, however is a remake of critically acclaimed powerful 2018 Tamil film ‘Pariyerum Perumal’. This film is directed by Shazia Iqbal and stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri in lead roles. Not much is released about the film except for the announcement as the film is surely a political mirror just like its original is scheduled to release on 22 November 2024.
