Plot and Themes
Auron Mein Kya Dum Tha is a touching story of two lovers – Krishna, an actor, portrayed by Ajay Devgn, and his partner (Tabu) who are separated for 23 years. The story continues from the point when Krishna is released from jail, the cause of which is not explained until the story starts. When talking about the nostalgic tone of the film, Tabu was adamant about the fact that this is what has aided the movie: And she explained how audiences can relate with their characters because of their previous popular roles together especially in the Drishyam series. This helps to make their reconnection after years apart feel believable and the audience cares for their relationship.

Reception and Future Prospects
Of course, Auron Mein Kya Dum Tha did not find much success at the box office, but the response to the OTT release may be different. Digital platforms such as Amazon Prime have now come as the hope of the movie to reach the right audience at home. Tabu’s comments about the film’s sentimentality make one wonder if it could find a better audience on streaming services. The film also includes young stars Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar to play the young versions of Ajay Devgn and Tabu respectively, which also forms another plot line of the movie.
